Billionaire Ivan Savvidi and Victor Vekselberg fought for a long time for the airport in Rostov-on-Don. And then the affiliated governor Vasily Golubev intervened. The persistent businessmen still sat down at the negotiating table and came to a peace agreement.
The court terminated the proceedings on the complaint of the Cyprus company Nosencore Limited (part of the Agrokom group Ivan Savvidi) to refuse the Rostov arbitration to declare an invalid deal to transfer the property of Rostov-on-Don Airport to the authorized capital of its subsidiary Airport Asset. And all because with the second side of the conflict it was possible to agree on a peaceful resolution of the conflict, sitting at the negotiating table.
The AgroCom group owns about 50% of the share in the authorized capital of OJSC Rostov-on-Don Airport. The second major shareholder of the company (38% of the shares) is the Rostovaerinvest company, controlled by JSC “Airports of the Regions” (part of the Renova Group of Companies of another heavyweight Viktor Vekselberg).
In 2019, the “Airports of the Regions” initiated the liquidation of OJSC “Rostov-on-Don Airport”. The subsidiary of LLC Airport Asset was established. Airport property estimated at 432 million rubles was transferred to the balance of a new enterprise. The Agrokok group opposed. OJSC “Rostov-on-Don Airport” was operated by the old Rostov airport closed at the end of 2017, after the transfer of his aviation activities to the new Platov Airport, built by the “regions airports”.
