The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the North Caucasus Federal District announced the results of an investigation into the detention of the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic, Alikhan Tsakaev, at the Gerzelsky Bridge checkpoint.

“On April 14, at the federal checkpoint “Gerzelsky Bridge”, located on the border of Chechnya and Dagestan, police officers saw a GMC “Yukon” car, which was moving along the oncoming lane of the Federal Highway P-217 “Caucasus”, while creating a threat to participants traffic.

The citizen did not respond to repeated demands to stop illegal behavior and present documents for the right to drive the vehicle, behaved aggressively, used obscene language against the police and attempted to escape. In connection with this, the specified car was stopped forcibly using a special engineering barrier.

The offender continued to behave inappropriately and aggressively, uttering threats against police officers. Physical force and special means (handcuffs) were used against him. In turn, the attacker dealt several blows to law enforcement officers.

Currently, an investigation into this fact has been completed, the results of which will be sent to the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee for further legal assessment,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
