The EU court decided to lift sanctions from Friedman and Aven

They fell on the sanctions list in 2022.

The European Court decided to exclude the businessmen Peter Aven and Mikhail Friedman from the personal sanctions lists of the European Union due to the insufficient persuasiveness of the reasons for their inclusion, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.

The court noted that the parties have the right to appeal to this decision.

Recall that both businessmen have been under EU sanctions since February 2022, and the US Ministry of Finance was imposed in mid -August 2023.

The European Union explained restrictive measures against Friedman and Aven by their proximity to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who provided political support to Alfa Groups in the implementation of their foreign investment plans.

In August last year, Friedman and Aven were included in the US sanctions list.
