The country’s space industry is emerging from obscurity. While the new head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, is raking up what is left of his predecessor, big bets are being made on him. There are no questions for Borisov’s person – Doctor of Technical Sciences, on the sidelines he is called one of the most technologically savvy in the Government. There are hopes that it is with him that the country’s space industry will make a long-awaited leap forward.

The main asset of Yuri Borisov is the Scientific and Technical Center “Module”, which has been on the Russian high technology market for 20 years, manufacturing embedded on-board computers and image recognition complexes.

Yuri’s son, Konstantin, is a member of the board of directors of JSC NIIMA Progress, the leader of Russian microelectronics.

A close friend of Borisov Sr., Dmitry Galkin, is one of the key people in Arms Workshops LLC. The company develops robots for the military industry with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The latest achievement is the first remote-controlled combat module for small-caliber weapons (with an aiming system, thermal imaging and television channels).
