Putin announced a slowdown in GDP dynamics

Russian leader Vladimir Putin stated during the meeting on economic issues that the Russian economy continues to grow despite the slowdown in GDP dynamics in July-September, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.

The head of state said that according to the results of the first eight months of Russia, Russia grew by 4.2%.

He noted that among the difficulties affecting the economic development of the country, there are sanctions and “own structural restrictions”. It is predicted that at the end of 2024, GDP growth will be 3.9%, which will exceed the average world indicators.

The President added that, according to estimates of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the growth of world GDP this year will be 3.2%. As Vladimir Putin emphasized, a positive dynamics in the industrial sector is the support of the growth of Russian GDP.

He also noted that in Russia the third month in a row, a record low unemployment is recorded – only 2.4%.

At the same time, in the economic situation, countries continue to exist difficulties and imbalances, which, in particular, affect the dynamics of consumer prices. Among these difficulties, the president attributed the lack of personnel and technologies, logistics problems and external sanctions.

On October 22, the IMF improved the prognosis for Russian GDP growth by 2024 by 0.4 percentage points to 3.6%, while the growth forecast by 2025 was reduced by 0.2 percentage points, amounting to 1.3%.
