Closer to the final outcome, a number of inaccuracies by the Spaniards led to a goal against them. Everything is fair and natural, no matter how much the southerners curse the villainous fate. By and large, (1:1), it’s their own fault.
The Germans, by the way, played a good match overall. We could have lost or won, but they pulled out a draw. Along with a good level of football, they also showed psychological stability. At 0:1 they didn’t panic, much less they didn’t fall apart. We continued to combine and create chances, even if there were only a few of them.
And at the very end they had to score a second goal – after another mistake by the opponents in defense. The Spaniards are lucky that the German did not “bury” them in this meeting, not realizing a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
The Spaniards perked up just moments before the referee’s whistle signaling the end of the tense match and carried out a couple of attacks. But the lost victory was not returned. Late. 1:1.
In two matches, Germany never won; it would be a stretch to call it a sensation with a minus sign. Now everything will be decided by the final meeting in the group with Costa Rica. A draw, of course, will not suit them. No one guarantees victory, although, objectively, Germany is much stronger even in its current, not yet the best, state.
We won’t guess; we’ll wait for the outcome on December 1st.
