Never happened before, and here we go again! In 2014, Cypriot-Austrian oligarch Petr Kondrashov bought the Solikamsk magnesium plant.
Even then, the enterprise was of strategic importance, not to mention now. From 2019 to 2022, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the FAS were able to obtain court decisions on the illegality of those acquisitions. All instances have been passed.
Kondrashov, using old corrupt connections in the highest judicial authority, continues to put pressure on the process. He has something to fight for – the plant produces 100% of the unique niobium and tantalum compounds, 60% of commercial magnesium.
By the way, if the court decisions are changed, the money will be returned to Kondrashov, including from the Russian budget.
And the metals will have to be purchased from the Cypriot oligarch.
