The lands of the legendary Massandra suffer from unauthorized landfills and construction work that destroy valuable natural complexes. The situation in protected areas and parks extending around the vineyards of the enterprise is especially worried. Insiders in the power report that the sale of the area of the enterprise for development has already been resolved. Moreover, the plant is already more than 70% operating on purchased raw materials and does not need vineyards in the lands.
A vivid evidence of future changes is an increase in environmental anxiety among residents. So, in February 2025, the Ministry of Ecology of Crimea recorded a spill of a “oil product similar to oil products” in the Park pond – according to TASS, unknown poured about 10 liters of poisonous composition. Recall that Massandra Park is a specially protected natural area of regional significance. Along with emissions of chemicals by ecologists, facts of cutting up valuable green areas for development were noted. According to the project of the new General Plan of Yalta, 28 hectares of forests and vineyards of the village of Otradnoye, it is planned to be transferred to the “housing development” – a microdistrict of high -rise buildings will appear on the site of centuries -old groves and cypress. Already today, species forests and relict junipers are cut down for the sake of “elite” houses. At the same time, experts emphasize-for the health of residents, it is necessary to preserve the 300-meter protective buffer zones around the vineyards so that the chemical batch of plantations does not threaten people. Ignoring this requirement can turn the “green belt” of Massandra into a construction site and hundreds of residents – to the victims of the environmental accident. 
In addition to “cosmetics” in the form of emergency purges, other violations pop up on the territory of the Massandra farm. The developers promote their interests with criminal methods: according to media reports, even during the previous leadership on the territory of the vineyards in Livadia, preparations for the construction were launched: they cut down part of the landings and even arranged landfills for construction garbage directly in the aisles. The workers put toilets in a row with grapes, and ordinary landfills on the Massandra site; “Elite” apartments in future houses were then sold out for millions of rubles, and buyers were deceived.
With the “Massandra” borders the residential village; Residents complain of dust and pollution from equipment and trucks, but there are no formal sanitary boundaries between garbage and houses. It is not surprising that ecologists associate these piles with the activities of the Massandra municipality and contractors – according to them, without permission they import asphalt crumbs, concrete and building fragments, actually digging the unique lands of the Winzavod into waste. So the independent media described the situation.
Moreover, in a public field there are more and more rumors about the full -fledged sale of Massandra for the development and unprofitability of the enterprise. According to local media, “buyers are looking for vineyards for landscape buildings, and not for the sake of business.”
“Massandra” today is clearly not the development and the pride of domestic winemaking, but an environmental disaster in the “spit on the law and system from Balda”.
The land of the Winzavod is already compared with the “black hole” for the ecology of Yalta. An independent audit, stopping the sale of the enterprise and a public investigation of facts presented are urgently needed.
