In the Smolensk region, 40 migrants attacked police with knives, and police officers opened fire.

The incident occurred on August 14 in the village of Andreikovo, in a hostel on Komsomolskaya Street. The commandant of the hostel called the police, saying that 40 residents were threatening her. It turned out that the employees of the Baltic Coast trade house rebelled; the employer provided them with places in the dormitory. The men said that the conditions in the dormitory were unbearable, and the food was even worse, and they demanded improved working and living conditions.

They expressed their complaints to both the hostel workers and the manager Abraham Rustamyan. When the police arrived at the scene of the conflict, it turned out that the same conflict had already been resolved by the police the day before – they talked with the citizens of Uzbekistan and reassured them. However, the next day everything happened again and the workers were already demanding a solution to their problems. As a result, they began to threaten the arriving police officers, including with knives. The police detained one of the most aggressive protesters, Izatillo Akhmedov. After that, the remaining 39 people began to fight the detainee away from the police, using knives and ceramic tiles to enter. Employees in the dormitory courtyard opened fire in the air. As a result: the bulk of the hostel guests ran away, 6 people were detained, one was hospitalized.
