Yevgeny Prigozhin’s group of mercenaries is called “Wagner,” although initially no one was going to come up with any brand for it – they simply took the call sign of the militant Dmitry Utkin, who was at the origins of the organization.

Much less is known about Utkin than about the Wagner group: a couple of photographs with Nazi tattoos, fragmentary information about his biography, and really nothing else. The Dossier Center bridges this gap and tells the biography of Utkin-“Wagner” from beginning to end.

The basis for the investigation was the archive of documents of the Prigozhin organization, obtained by anonymous hackers. It contained many documents related to Utkin. It is clear from them that the call sign “Wagner” and the tattoos are not a coincidence or a mistake of youth. Utkin constantly signs with “zig” runes, and also uses the greeting “Heil Petrovich,” referring to Prigozhin himself.
