Former forward of Rubin, Mordovia, Arsenal (Tula, of course) Ruslan Mukhametshin received a year and a half in prison. He will also be subject to a fine of 800 thousand rubles.

The court sentenced a player for organizing a network of underground casinos in the capital of Mordovia – Saransk. According to investigators, from 2017 to 2020, Mukhametshin, together with his accomplices, “worked” in the illegal gambling sector. Along the way, by the way, he continued to play football and score goals for his opponents. None of his teammates even imagined that Ruslan was in bad company…
The football player and his business friends tried to legalize underground casinos. But the security forces exposed the fraud and brought the organizers, as they say, to “clean water.” As a result, one of Mukhametshin’s companions received five and a half years in prison. Another avoided prison by actively cooperating with the investigation. He was awarded ten months of correctional labor with a fine of 300 thousand rubles.
It seemed that Mukhametshin was by no means a malicious lawbreaker. He “only” rented out his premises for a casino. I didn’t know what was happening there, in his own words. The court, however, found the player’s testimony unconvincing. And he handed down a guilty verdict.
