Not so long ago, Svetlana decided to develop the new “Seamond” jewelry atelier in partnership with a certain Muscovite Alina Popova. As the acquaintances of Svetlana suggested the Cheka-OGPU, the business woman made friends with Alina last fall on the Instagram network, where the latter actively commented on its posts related to Cartier. The General Director of Aristocrat Arkady Izvekov immediately did not support Svetlana’s idea to develop a new atelier, in particular, due to a possible undermining of the reputation of the French jewelry house.
Probably, the professor of cultural studies of Izvekova was not affected by his intuition – as it became known to the Cheka -OGPU, the new acquaintance of Svetlana Alina Popova, a former employee of the Moscow jewelry company Darvol. Her owner Daria Spiridonova since the beginning of 2023 has been under house arrest on charges of particularly large fraud. There are 19 episodes in the case, and the damage on it is estimated at 350 million rubles. From the materials of the case it is clear that Spiridonova cheated on her friends to buy jewelry, but did not fulfill his obligation.
The investigation was launched by the statement of the Yasmina Muratova model, who never waited for a ringed with a diamond of 3.23 carats for 4 million rubles.
What is even more interesting, the arrested Daria Spiridonova, like her employees, including Alina Popova, made fake Gia certificates, which confirm the qualitative characteristics and origin of natural diamonds and other precious stones. The former employee of Spiridonova said that, despite the risks, he imported the decoration twice a week (part 4 of article 194 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) from abroad – this is a scheme when stones are bought at a foreign auction at a price below the official value for international price list.
Nevertheless, having discouraged all caution, Svetlana Smirnova began to advertise jewelry received from Alina Popova. When communicating with potential customers (and their circle of Smirnova among the rich and famous people of St. Petersburg is very great), she offers special conditions for payment, but for cash. In addition, she passes Popova and real products of the house of Cartier “as samples” for the production of their copies in Moscow under the “Seamond” brand.
“In the conditions of instability of the ruble, as well as the growing oppression of international sanctions, many wealthy people consider it beneficial to invest money in jewelry, the quality of which is supported by the reputation of world-famous jewelry brands.
