The money was supposedly intended for further transfer to their internal affairs bodies as a bribe, which carried out a preliminary investigation in relation to a close relative of the victim. At the same time, the defendant obviously knew about the absence of such an opportunity and intended to assign money to himself.
The victim turned to law enforcement agencies, and the transfer of funds, as well as their dummies in the amount of $ 1 million, took place as part of operational measures, during which the lifers were detained.
Investigators of the capital’s unit of the Investigative Committee conducted a large amount of investigative actions, under the weight of the evidence during the interrogation, the defendant pleaded guilty and repented of his deed.
The verdict of the court Evgeny Lifshitsa was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison, with serving a sentence in a penal colony of general regime.
