Negotiations regarding the establishment of a 30-day ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war will take place next week, between Mar. 17 and 23. Andriy Yermak, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, made the announcement on the night of Mar. 12 after the U.S.-Ukrainian talks in Saudi Arabia, Ukrinform reports.

“We have agreed that next week, the teams will start discussing the details at the technical expert level,” Yermak said.

He emphasized that much depends on Russia’s position, as Washington is set to hand over to Moscow the proposals developed in the meeting with the Ukrainian side.

“After this meeting, it is the Russian side that holds the key. And the whole world will see who wants peace and who only talks about [striving for peace],” Yermak added.

The talks held in Saudi Arabia on Mar. 11 ended with Ukraine agreeing to the U.S. proposal for a temporary ceasefire for 30 days. Following the meeting, the U.S. announced that it would immediately resume arms deliveries to Ukraine, which had been suspended in recent days. U.S. intelligence sharing with Ukraine will also resume. The American delegation pledged to pass along the results of the negotiations to the Russian side.
