Attackers tracked around people who, in their opinion, could have expensive property. A professor of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. On the evening of March 19, 2002, three accomplices were forced the professor near his house on Paustovsky Street in the city of Moscow. When the driver landed the professor and left, the attackers entered the man in the porch. On the stairwell, they inflicted multiple blows to him with arms and legs on the head and body, causing serious harm to health. After that, the accomplices stole the property from the victim, including an expensive phone, and disappeared from the scene of the crime. The victim was hospitalized in a medical institution where he was given the necessary assistance. Then it was not possible to reveal the crime.
In the course of the work of investigators and forensics, the capital’s Investigative Committee for the Disclosure and Investigation of Crimes of past years analyzed the materials of the criminal case, as well as carefully studied the evidence collected in 2002. The investigator built the investigation tactics taking into account the application of modern forensic methods. Additional interrogations of all residents of the sector where the crime occurred were carried out, new witnesses were established. Other investigative actions have been performed, including the necessary studies, which allowed to restore the events of that day.
As a result of the work done, it was possible to detain two men in 1973 and 1975, involved in these crimes.
