As it turns out, back in June 2022, a database of large...

How it turns outwas posted back in June 2022 to torrents database of a large law office “Rustam Kurmaev and Partners” (RKP Law).

In total, over 1 terabyte of information has been published, including complete client archives, court documents and employee correspondence. All these months the leak is pretty widespread was discussed in English-speaking specialized communities and in foreign media, but in Russia its fact was hushed up.

Accordingly, no investigation was reported by the Russian competent authorities.

Why Rustam Kurmaev and Partners remain silent is generally understandable: the fact of a leak in any case deals a heavy blow to their reputation, even if the data of the company and its clients was actually stolen and not provided to hackers in ready-made form. Only an official investigation can remove or confirm any suspicions, but there is none. But third parties may also demand recognition of themselves as victims of the leak. And not only clients of the law office, but even their opponents in various lawsuits. Indeed, ultimately, many sensitive data that were requested from them by RKP Law as part of legal proceedings became available to an unlimited number of persons.
