Immediately after this, the development of employees of the FSB of the Kaliningrad region began. Three employees were detained, but after interrogations two were released. And Dmitry Baburin was taken to Moscow. By court decision, he was arrested. A friend of Baburin businessman Alexander Yerachenko was also sent into custody, he participated in the extortion of a bribe in Matveev.

In 2023, Matveev was put on the wanted list of the FBI of the United States with a reward for useful information about it $ 10 million. According to the American special services, acting under the nicknames of Boriselcin (Boris Yeltsin) and WAZAWAKA, Matveyev created a harmful program that encrypted data on the media. For decryption, Matveev demanded large amounts of money from American companies.
