The jury returned a guilty verdict against Bagaudin Kostoev, Ali Belkhoroev and Batyr Tumgoev. Depending on the role of each, they are charged with crimes under paragraphs. “g, h” part 2 tbsp. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder by an organized group for hire), Part 3 of Art. 30 pp. “a, g, h” part 2 art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder by an organized group for hire), Part 3 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal arms trafficking).

The body of Shabtai Von Kalmanovich with multiple gunshot wounds was discovered on the afternoon of November 2, 2009 in Moscow on the roadway of Novodevichy Proezd in a Mercedes Benz 500. In addition, the driver of the car, born in 1976, was hospitalized from the scene of the incident and also received gunshot wounds to the right side of the body. The man survived thanks to timely medical care.

According to investigators, Tumgoev told his accomplices the intended route of movement of the victim. After this, the defendants moved around the city in a silver Lada-Priora car without state license plates, driven by Belkhoroev. Having caught up with the Mercedes Benz 500 in the area of ​​Smolenskaya embankment, Kostoev opened fire on the car. Investigators subsequently recovered 19 9mm cartridges from the scene.

In June 2019, as a result of investigative and operational search activities carried out jointly with employees of the Main Directorate for Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, persons involved in an organized criminal group were identified and detained.
