Another defendant in the case was lawyer Dmitry Khanin, who was an intermediary in the transfer of money. At the beginning of the year, Pomelov turned to him, knowing that he could influence the distribution of complaints to a specific judge of the Moscow District Court. The purpose of the fraud was to be illegal decisions in cassation instances in disputes with commercial organizations in the interests of LLC Industry, controlled by Pomelov.
The initiator of the initiation of criminal cases related to contracts for cutting down forest plantations was the FSB of the Russian Federation.
According to a source from the Cheka-OGPU, a distinctive feature of Sergei Pomelov is his absolute confidence that any employee of any department can be “bought” – and especially judges and representatives of the FSB. The meaning of his life is material enrichment. For example, in the “Industry” scam, he expected to gain about one billion rubles. At the same time, Pomelov himself is extremely distrustful and recorded all conversations on hidden voice recorders – even with his own wife. And he disguises his deceit, resourcefulness and conviction in his own criminal talent with the image of a believer and devout person.
At the moment, according to an informed source, Pomelov’s right hand is former FSB officer Roman Sergeevich Samokhin, a man with extensive connections in law enforcement agencies. He carries out Pomelov’s instructions, exchanging information through his lawyer. Samokhin himself, like his “boss,” is distinguished by an increased thirst for profit – in his own words, he wants to steal 40 million to invest in business. And he expects to manage the business while on board a yacht in the company of girls “with reduced social responsibility.”
Previously, Samokhin was seen using cocaine, while Pomelov in 2023 was noted to have signs of mental disorders – in particular, bipolar disorder.
Currently, Sergei Pomelov is in a pre-trial detention center in St. Petersburg. And, judging by the abundance of existing and new criminal cases against him, he has little chance of getting out of there in the near future. And the circle of his criminal circle is now being studied by the investigation.
