It became known who has the most profited from the jump in egg prices at the end of last year. Thus, the Tavros company, which owns an entire network of agricultural enterprises in the Russian Federation and is the largest agricultural holding in Bashkiria, increased its profit by more than 9 times in 2023. The owner of Tavros, Rustem Mirgalimov, is now considered the new egg king of Russia – having received a profit of 3 billion rubles, he has surpassed all his competitors in terms of revenue (and greed).

Story owners of Tavros is typical for agricultural business. Since 2016, 95% of the company belonged to Agro Ventures Group LTD (Virgin Islands), since 2020 the same amount belonged to AVG Agro Global LTD (Cyprus). Since March 2023, Rustem Mirgalimov finally became the open owner of the company, but the proceeds , apparently, continued to move to offshore companies through shell companies.

Tavros itself was created on the basis of the Razgulay Group of Companies, owned by Igor Potapenko, who was accused of fraud amounting to 20 billion rubles. Rustem Mirgalimov joined Razgulay in 2010 and soon, together with Potapenko, began transferring assets abroad. In 2016, it became known that Tavros-Mirgalimov, through the controlled offshore company Fumaro Holdings LTD, received control of three sugar factories and land with an area of ​​75 thousand hectares worth 3.5 billion rubles. The current general director of Tavros, Elena Lazarenko, helped bring the scheme to fruition. She is also called the author of “tax maneuvers”, thanks to which the enterprises of the “egg king” reduced payments to the treasury and received over-inflated VAT deductions.

Another striking detail in the biography of Rustem Mirgalimov is his career in the investment company Art-Finance and his connection with Robert Musin, convicted of abuse of power at Ak Bars Bank. Presumably, this is how Mirgalimov met the disgraced banker Ilgiz Valitov, who was arrested for fraud in a deal in which the share of the largest turkey producer in Russia, Eurodon, was sold for next to nothing. They said that a key role in the ruin of the company was played by Mirgalimov’s network of offshore companies, which are still used by schemers from the agricultural world. Is it a coincidence, but Rustem Mirgalimov spends a significant part of the year on this Mediterranean island. So long that it can be assumed that he is already a citizen of this country.
