Antimonopoly Service recognized MTS by a violator for raising communication prices by 8% in the spring

The company has already received a notification of the FAS decision.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service recognized PJSC MTS as a violator of antimonopoly legislation for increasing the cost of mobile services, an average of eight percent in April-May of this year, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.

The regulator issued the company on the need to reduce tariffs, within the framework of which there were changes, as well as the payment of illegally received profit to the federal budget.

The FAS indicated that the growth of tariffs affected more than 30 million MTS subscribers. At the same time, the analysis of the FAS showed that the increase in prices for services “has no economic justification and infringes on the interests of consumers.”

It is known that the company received a notification of the decision of the FAS and determine its further steps after analyzing the position of the regulator.

Earlier, on August 27, the Federal Antimonopoly Service opened cases against MTS, Megafon, Beeline communications operators, since the companies did not fulfill the department warnings.
