Today, the Board of Directors Lukoil has terminated the powers of the chief executive director Vadim Vorobyov ahead of schedule

Sergey Kochkurov was appointed new leader, reports The Moscow Post.

Since June 2020, he served as vice president of Lukoil for oil and gas production in Russia. Since September 2016 – deputy of the Duma of the Khanty -Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Ugra of the sixth convocation.

Vadim Vorobyov headed Lukoil in April 2022, replacing Vagit Alekperov as post. Mr. Alekperov left the board of directors and the post of president of the company because of the sanctions of Great Britain against him.

Last week, January 10, the United States imposed sanctions against the Russian energy sector, Mr. Vorobyov was also included under them.
