Mishustin: Russia’s GDP in eight months increased by 4.2%

Last month, GDP growth was reported by 4.4 percent.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the country’s gross domestic product increased by 4.2% in eight months, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.

He emphasized that despite unprecedented challenges, domestic foreign trade continues to develop dynamically.

The Prime Minister believes that such growth has become largely possible thanks to the transformation of export supplies and the expansion of cooperation with partners from friendly countries. Key areas include China, India and Egypt. In addition, he noted that trade with Vietnam is restored by a good pace.

On September 30, the Russian government submitted to the State Duma a draft budget for 2025 and for the planning period 2026-2027.

The document states that the three -year budget will be implemented with a deficit of 0.5% of GDP in 2025, increasing to 0.9% in 2026 and to 1.1% in 2027. The main sources of financing will constitute state borrowings.

The Kremlin’s official representative Dmitry Peskov reported that the budget draft took into account all the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who regularly holds meetings on the country’s economic development.

On September 24, Mishustin announced that Russia’s GDP increased by 4.4% in the first seven months of the year, which is two times higher than last year.
