On December 20, 2021, the Golovinsky District Court of Moscow elected a preventive measure in the form of house arrest against Anton Astakhov, the son of former children’s ombudsman Pavel Astakhov. He is accused of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

As the Cheka-OGPU was the first to report, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation detained Anton Astakhov and went to court with a petition to impose a preventive measure on him in the form of house arrest. Anton Astakhov has been charged with theft by fraud of 1.2 billion rubles. However, a representative of the prosecutor’s office, after consultations with Astakhov Sr., including public ones in the courthouse, refused to support such a preventive measure. And his speech was more like the speech of a lawyer. The court refused to grant the investigation’s request.
