If in Moscow they decided to completely renew the party’s representatives in the State Duma (about 25% of United Russia deputies will retain their seats, the rest will be newcomers), then in the regions this program is simply ignored. It is especially clearly ignored in Ossetia. Now the leaders of the United Russia list in Ossetia are: the head of the region Sergei Menyailo, the Siberian oligarch and main eater of contracts in Ossetia Vladimir Guriev, State Duma deputy Zurab Makiev, and the old functionary Alexander Totoonov.

They planned to push Guriev to the post of senator, which he had long dreamed of, but after communicating with his overseas counterparties (they buy metal from his companies), Guriev abandoned this idea; sanctions would not allow him to do business.

Zurab Makiev is a person with great weight in United Russia, as he is close friends with Turchak, but at the same time with very low electoral support in Ossetia. He was hit hard by the scandal surrounding the statements of the leader of the largest organization of killers, Aslan Gagiev (Dzhako), who testified that Makiev was his client.

Alexander Totoonov is another person whom Aslan Gagiev called him his client. The eternal functionary of United Russia, who never managed to jump too high. In the primaries in Ossetia, he took 154th place. As a result, Totoonov was saved from “retirement” by the decision of the General Council of United Russia.

In Ossetia they understand that United Russia has a very weak position, so they are forced to remove the “New People” party, which is represented in the State Duma, the “Deed Party”, and also the “Communists of Russia” from the elections. But will this help avoid failure?
