The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, suppressed the activities of an organized group whose members, through deception and abuse of trust, stole the funds of their victims for the promise of assistance in their appointment to public service and patronage through various executive authorities of the Russian Federation.

It was established that the organizer of the criminal scheme, Igor Borisovich Devyatov and four of his accomplices, posing as high-ranking officials in the highest government bodies of the Russian Federation, using fictitious names, in particular, Nevzlin Mark Anatolyevich, illegally seized funds belonging to a citizen of the Russian Federation in the amount of at least 180 million rubles for a fictitious solution to the issue of appointing the victim to a public position, as well as providing assistance in obtaining state-owned land plots for residential development controlled by the victim commercial organization.

As a result of coordinated operational search activities and investigative actions in Moscow, the attackers were detained. At the places of residence of these persons, objects and documents indicating their illegal activities were discovered and seized, as well as cash and luxury goods worth over 55 million rubles.
