The Moskovsky District Court of St. Petersburg ruled to select a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to ultrasound specialist Anvar Niyazov, suspected of beating the mighty and great Ilya Trayer (Part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the investigation, on November 24, 2022, Niyazov, being a passenger on an Aeroflot flight flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg, from 01.30 to 01.40, during a verbal conflict that arose with passenger Ilya Traber (Antiquar), sitting in the next seat, struck Traber at least 5 blows to the head, face and hand, breaking a finger, causing the victim’s health was harmed to moderate severity.

Niyazov lives in the Leningrad Region, is employed as an ultrasound doctor, and is married.

The inquiry was motivated by the petition, among other things, by the fact that Niyazov wants to leave the Russian Federation by flying to Turkey. He has dual citizenship and strong social ties in Turkmenistan, and has hand-to-hand combat skills. The crime he committed was audacious, given the age of the victim.

Niyazov objected, asked for a ban on certain actions, and said that he had apologized to the victim.

The deadline for the measure is December 24, 2022.
