Over the past year, a number of states, including the United States, Israel, Türkiye and China, have been significantly upgrading their cyber forces. Russia, in turn, took a set of additional measures in the field of information security at the state level. However, the massive outflow of young specialists and the shortage of necessary components and modules from which products were created pose a great threat to the sustainability of the Russian IT sector.

In the wake of geopolitical instability in Russia, an unprecedented increase in the number of hacker attacks on Russian information infrastructure facilities has been recorded – over the past year, their number has reached 1.255 million.

Specially created cyber concerns are capable of repelling massive DDoS attacks. Their centers could be such industry leaders as Kaspersky Lab, Yuri Maksimov’s Positive Technologies and Ilya Sachkov’s Group-IB. The latter is one of the most famous companies in the Russian Federation for the prevention and investigation of cybercrimes. It has at its disposal the most popular analytical systems and software, initially specialized for security forces.

However, while the best brains in the IT sector are in prison, including Ilya Sachkov himself, Russian cyber defense is in a very vulnerable position.
